After graduating from Washington State University with a degree in communications, Wendy Richardson worked in advertising at Lintas Muir Cornelius Moore in New York. She spent the next fifteen years coordinating the art departments on feature films, such as The Hudsucker Proxy, Forrest Gump, The Jungle Book, Indian in the Cupboard, For Love of The Game, Nutty Professor II, The Fast and The Furious and We Were Soldiers.
Prior to joining the staff at Warner Brothers as a feature film estimator, Wendy line-produced Shonda Rhimes’ directorial debut, Bossoms & Veils, as well as assisting Jenji Kohan on the sitcom, The Stones. During this time Wendy got a literary agent for her young adult novel, THE SECRET FILES OF A FAIRYGODSISTER and became a summer foster mom to a 9 year old from Siberia, Russia.
In 2007 she completely changed gears and moved to Austin, Texas and worked on the front lines of autism care for a non-profit for 10 years including the creation of the first Autism Friendly hotel rooms in the nation. She embarked on the adventure of IVF to become a Single Mom by Choice to twins, Violet and Breiten.
Wendy’s television pilot script, VELVET VALLEY, written with Stephanie Whallon, won third place in the Original TV Pilot at Scriptapalooza and was a top 10 pitch finalist at ATX festival. Her feature script, FIRST & GWEN was a competition semi - finalist in the Screencraft Comedy Contest and feature script, LIFT OFF, was in the top 3% of all scripts on Coverfly.
Wendy lives in Austin her twins and a dog called Pants.
